A Few SEO Tips
- Be wary of Web Designers that guarantee you will rank on page 1. Ranking in Google can take time.
- Make sure that you have a Google title which contains the keyword, you are trying to rank for.
- Ensure your meta description is informative and helpful, don’t jam it full of keywords.
- Make sure that you use alternative image tags on your images.
Google’s Ever changing algorithm
Google use a complex algorithm to work out where your website ranks in Google. Just because you rank well one week, doesn’t mean that you are going to rank well the next. Google is constantly changing it’s algorithm, so it is necessary to watch where your website ranks and constantly keep your website up to date and fresh. Whilst some of these changes are minor, every year there is a major update, often named after animals, eg. Google Panda, Google Penguin. See Google algorithm change History written by MOZ.
Have you considered having a health check on your website? Most of us go to a doctor if we feel sick, so if your website is slow or isn’t ranking the way you would like it to, think about organising a website audit.
